Dr. Alexandra Hoffmann-Steiman is a doctorally prepared Family Nurse Practitioner, board certified by ANCC, specializing in internal medicine and family medicine in the clinic setting for over ten years. She completed her Bachelors in Biology from CUNY-CSI. She earned her BSN, Masters and Doctorate from Wagner College.

Her research focused on Global Health Epidemiology and Disaster Emergency Management. She is a true humanitarian with a passion for education and a thirst for learning. She developed an educational video on Emergency Disaster Management for the geriatric and pediatric population published in “The DNP Journal Inc”.

She has been a registered nurse for over twenty years and has practiced in various settings such as the MICU at RUMC and NYP Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in the Medical Surgical Orthopedic Rehabilitation unit. She served as adjunct clinical professor with Wagner College graduate nursing students and currently is full time faculty as a doctoral lecturer with The College of Staten Island Nursing Department. She has dedicated her career to educating undergraduate nursing students among various practice settings of the inpatient unit of the hospital including telemetry, ventilation unit, medical-surgical and pre/post op surgical unit.

She obtained the FUSE High Fidelity Simulation certification from NYU, a special recognition for clinical excellence and plans to develop further research in nursing education for the next generation of future student nurses and implement the use for nurse practitioners. She is part of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Mu Upsilon Chapter, a prestigious nursing society, a member of The Nurse Practitioner Association of Staten Island region, and is part of CSI Alumni Association and Wagner College Alumni. 

She enjoys attending medical conferences, traveling and vacationing with her family, and baking.
